This is one funny topic. Here's my comment on this.
Before Kamikazee broke the effing Rakista stereotypes, Rock music wasn't that accepted and was pretty much sneered at. I am a Rock Fan. But back then, Punk Rock was the underground Rock, that music which many Punk Rockers defend as something different as other music, even separated from Rock itself. And if you ask every one of them, I assure you they will have a different defense as to what Punk is, what it stands for, and how special they are because they chose it first before anyone even heard of it.
But when Kamikazee released their single "Narda", they opened the gates for the market of Rock music which instantly made Rock in the Philippines as a mainstream music, making promoters and producers realize that rock music is actually quite profitable in this country. Rock in the Philippines was now a real music that can be sold to kids with money to buy CD's and not just an alternative for those who can only afford cassette tapes and pirated CD's.

Well, funny thing about history is that it does repeat itself. And now, with all the hundreds of Rock bands flooding the market, its no surprise that there would be this one rock music that rockers would defend as something different, something not all can understand and appreciate, something that separates them from you. Well Boo-hoo, Rock is Rock, Music is Music. You can't separate what is always whole. Everyone is Emo, everyone had their fucked up moments, we all had endure the pain and suffering which we call everyday life. Rock is a fashion, Rock is a Music, Rock is a Lifestyle. Rock is Appreciation for All. Rock is Life.
